Salcedo Health Development Foundation
is a foundation in Salcedo, Eastern Samar, Philippines
The purpose of SHDF is as follows:
Salcedo Health Development Foundation aims to promote health equity by
delivering holistic, sustainable healthcare solutions that empower
marginalized communities in partnership with various local and
international stakeholders, and ensure that every individual has the
opportunity to access quality healthcare services.
Provide a spectrum of quality health care services from promotion,
prevention, curative, rehabilitative, and palliative services provided
that purely professional, medical or surgical services shall be
performed by duly qualified and licensed physicians or surgeon who may
or may not be connected with this corporation.
Develop community-based initiatives to ensure access to services,
including emerging infectious diseases, nutrition, environmental health,
mental health, and communicable and non-communicable disease prevention
and control programs/projects.
Capacitate health workers to address local and global human resource
needs.
Research health inequity, service delivery, health systems
strengthening, and influencing local and national health problems.
Develop innovative practices using health technologies applicable to
local communities in compliance with Philippine laws.
Establish partnerships and collaborations with local and international
stakeholders to develop health packages responsive to local health
needs.
Foster collaboration with local and foreign organizations to develop
partnerships with local communities, non-profit organizations, and
government agencies to establish comprehensive support systems that
tackle the multifaceted challenges faced by marginalized communities and
enhance the implementation of the foundation’s programs and secure
funding and other logistical support (equipment/medical supplies/ drugs
and other pharmaceutical products).
